Hilco Magic Wheel

Oh I'm such a slacker! It's been a month since the last post and I have no excuse =P

When I was at CVS picking up the Biker Bunny I came across this Magic Wheel toy with candy in the handle!! When I was little I was in love with magic wheel toys especially the ones that played music while you wheeled. How did they do that?? So of course I couldn't resist this cute bunny magic wheel. Especially when I found the candy in the handle!!

The candy was a great surprise. I figured that the flavours would be your regular run of the mill thing. Oh no! Yellow is banana and green is apple! I expected lime and lemon and let me tell you I hate both flavours so I was super excited. The other flavours are as expected with blueberry, grape and strawberry. I think it was strawberry. It could be bubble gum. Hard to tell. The flavour doesn't come out until you get the coloured coating sucked off and I warn you that the apple is VERY strong. It sort of scared me x.x
So just in case you have no idea what a magic wheel is here's a pretty crappy video of me playing with it =)

Hilco Biker Bunny

I saw an ad for this Biker Bunny in the paper Sunday and immediately knew I needed it. And boy did I get so much more than I thought I would! First, he's much bigger than I expected. When you roll him his little head goes back and forth. And (I didn't find this out until I was done taking pictures and ready to upload) there's a pull string on the back which makes him pedal all on his own! The egg is filled with jelly beans which I could personally live without but he's too cute to pass up! I couldn't find a website for the company or even anyone selling these online. They appear to be at drug stores and I got mine at CVS. The ad I saw was for Eckerds. Anyway, there's a video below of him in action =)

PEZ Hippity Hoppities: Lamb

"The sweetest baby faced lamb. Great on your holiday table or fun as an Easter basket treat!"
I LOVE this years easter edition PEZ containers! Well, actually I'm only in love with the Lamb and Pink Bunny because they look like something you'd see on a vintage easter card. And the best part? They go really well with the Fiona Easter Party Bundle from Target! I will definately be snatching these beauties up =)

Chick-n-Chat Crazy Candy Chickens

I am obviously obsessed with animals who release candy from their bums. These crazy cuddly chickens squawk when you squeeze them. Yummy jelly beans squirt out of their posterior area when you release a secret hatch! Each chicken has wild googly eyes that are quite mesmerizing. Unfortunately you can only get these in 16ct dispays from Candy Warehouse but then you can share the joy with friends and family! My favorite part is that they squawk when you squeeze them...as chickens should!

Porky Pooper

If you didn't know, my favorite animals are pigs. I am in love with this little guy that shoots brown jelly beans from his bum when you push down on his back. I'm not sure of any brick and mortar stores selling him but if you follow the link you can get him at candy warehouse. He also has some friends which include That's Bull the bull and Oops-A-Daisy the cow. If anyone finds these in a store let me know =)

Gummy Mustaches

When in doubt, check out Archie McPhee. I had no idea what to post today so I went to the site on a whim. There I found Sasparilla flavoured gummy mustaches! Talk about playing with you food!! I'm not quite sure if I'd want to eat something I've put so close to my nose, but I wouldn't eat anything sasparilla flavoured anyhow. This is definately an interesting idea and would look great with some wax lips! This site has a large collection of the strange and kitshy so check it out.

I got nothin'
I've quickly run out of things to show. Well, I have things to show but they're Easter related and (unlike the stores) I'd rather wait to show them after Valentine's Day. Sorry...not like I have a real following thus far anyway.

Candy Filled Plastic Hearts

I have seen these candy filled hearts from M&Ms, Skittles, Barbie & Spongebob. While it's not really a toy, the container is pretty spiffy! And I'm not sure about the others but the Spongebob one comes with stickers!!! This SpongeBob SquarePants embossed heart holds Yogurt Covered Raisins. The little saying that you can’t quite make out there next to SpongeBob is “Valentine ... let’s soak up some smiles!”

According to Candy Blog the raisins aren't worth it but of course...there's stickers! Thanks to Cybele again for the picture used.

Clear Toy Candy

This candy IS the toy! While that may mean the toy won't last long, it's really friggin cool!!! Such detail is in these pieces of clear, hard candy it's amazing. I've yet to see or taste these wonderful little guys so I will include some of the review from http://www.typetive.com/candyblog.

"The group of twenty included a few duplicates and unfortunately one of the uniques, a red steamboat, was among the broken. Other shapes included a nursing cow, chicken, duck, elephant, rhinoceros, cow, tin soldier, dog, cat (with a broken ear, just like my mother’s real cat!), pig, locomotive, a wolf and finally the most enigmatic of them, an angel on a lion. All the toys are three dimensional (some, like the locomotive are kind of flat, but shaped on both sides) unlike other more common lollipops which are shaped only on one side. They all have a little base and can stand up, it might be fun to have a chess set made out of these (well, not if you live in a humid climate).

"If there’s anything bad about these, it’s that they’re so dense that it’s hard to break the more solid and prickly ones in order to eat them. The toy shapes don’t really lend themselves to sucking whole unless you’re keen on making lots of noises (I guess that’s why the lollipop versions are so popular).

"They’re smooth, with few if any voids, delicate and soft on the tongue as they melt ever-so-slowly. All the colors are the same mellow sugar flavor. They are absolutely the best barley sugar candies I’ve had in my adult life. Some places flavor them, I like the plain sugar flavor best.

The only real detraction for me with these was the slight metallic flavor when you first start eating them. My guess is it’s either the mold or the light oil coating they have to keep them from sticking. I didn’t notice it on all of them... The other bad thing, of course, is that they’re so freakishly hard to find."

Thanks also to Candy blog for the lovely photo.

Sakuma Hello Kitty Bottle Cap Candy
I would definately kill to get my hands on just one of these! Bottle cap figures are highly prized collectibles in Japan, and this cannister of yummy fruity hard candy is no exception, featuring a full color figure of Hello Kitty on top! This collection of bottle caps can also fit on P.E.T. bottles, and it features a fully sculpted Hello Kitty in cosplay on a rotating cap with display background. A very cool collectible! And inside is a fruit mix of hard candy, bite sized and sweet. There's even a secret variation??? I dunno what that means but I NEED it!

Hubba Bubba Twist N Pours
I was looking through the Valentine Candy at work the other day and came across these cute little "Weeble Wobble" type containers of Hubba Bubba gum!!! I bought one of each and am completely in love. I couldn't find any information other than the link listed. While the gum leaves something lacking (it's in the chiclets style) these containers will be in my collection for sure.
